We would always arm wrestle to determine the plate collector. I remembered the break time where we would teasing lao da, espeically when he's in the toilet. This is a place I spend my 17th and 18th birthday as well as my 1st 5 years as a teacher. Going back AJC just brings back so much fond memories both as a student and a teacher. Abba give me your love and strength that I may be an instrument of your inspiration.
This is indeed the true mission of education. It is truly about inspiring the students to give back to the society. Teaching goes beyond helping students pursue academic excellence. Ironically, I know that Abba made us in a manner that we will only be truly happy and satisfied when we help others. There are just so many of us always focusing on ourselves, giving too much attention to how we look, how much fun we want to get out of life. I am once again inspired by someone who gives of herself to the society. The two ex convict were exceptionally grateful to her and now serve as volunteers. She inspires the inmates and helps 2 of them to get into university. In addition, she volunteers at Changi Prison School weekly. In MI, she helped a student who had financial problem, paid for her canteen food for two years, wrote a letter of recommendation to NUS for bursary award and help get him a holiday job in MI. Subsequently, she came to Singapore and taught in Millenium Institute. She was accepted and worked part time to support herself in Taiwan.Īfter she got her degree, she returned to her alma mater as a teacher to repay the kindness her secondary has shown her. Upon graduation from Pre university, her teachers recommended her to study in Taiwan University as they offer bursary. Subsequently, under the encouragement of her teachers and principal, she managed to secure the school bursary award all the way through her pre university. In her first year, her auntie paid for her school fees and allowances. Finally, when she was 21, she went back to Malaysia and found a school that is willingly to take her in despite her age. She recounted how she would feel very guilty whenever she lied to her prospective employer that she dropped out of school when she was in secondary two. When she was very young, her father passed away and she had to quit school to help with the family after PSLE. Today's Episode is about an Inspiring chinese language teacher.
